Overview
CYBG PLC is an independent banking group incorporating Clydesdale Bank, Yorkshire Bank, Virgin Money and the digital banking platform B.
The challenge
I was challenged with updating the UI for all online payments journey across all digital platforms for Clydesdale, Yorkshire and B Bank. This included both web and native applications. The new functionality allowed businesses to transfer money between accounts or make payments to an external payee. It also provided functionality allowing business customers to make batch, list, backs and CHAPS payments. Initially for Business accounts but was later rolled out to customers as well.
My role
Collaboration on this project was key to designing a successful user experience. I was lucky enough to work closely with a talented team of UX Designers, Solution Designers and a BA to deliver this feature ahead of schedule.
As Lead UI Designer on this project I delivered full UI for the payments journey and created clickable prototypes for user testing. I also created components and wrote documentation and guidance that formed a big part of the design system we built alongside our project specific work.
Output
This was the first bank to design and build such a feature and it came with many challenges. One of which was creating a design which worked across three different brands: Clydesdale, Yorkshire and B Bank.
